 THE STORY, An Interwoven Gospel
is truly a unique work in several ways.
THE STORY is a chronological,
color-coded compilation of the four Gospels.
THE STORY is not a work of
fiction created by Mr. Fincher with scriptures
inserted around his story, but conversely, it is
exclusively comprised of the scriptures
themselves. A different color is used for the
text of each of the four writers, and where
needed, in order to weave the writings of the
four authors together into a flowing,
grammatically correct account, an occasional
conjunction or words were inserted. These words
are printed in black to indicate that they have
been added for this purpose and are not from the
scriptures. The result; the true story of the
wonderful life of Jesus unfolds for us in a
uniquely ordered, contrasting and easy-to-read
form.
The four Gospel writers, Matthew,
Mark, Luke and John each had their own personal
style of writing, and also commonly wrote to
varying and specific audiences. Matthew, for
example, was often quite descriptive and wordy
however, Mark might utilize more of a just
the facts style. Some accounts were
shared by all, while others were recounted by
only one or two perhaps, and not mentioned by
the other writers. In the instances in which
two or more are writing of the same subject, the
color coding becomes especially profound as one
becomes immediately aware of the differences, or
similarities, between the accounts written by
these four inspired men.
This in-depth interweaving process
utilizing a different color text for each author
not only blends the four Gospel accounts
together into a smooth-flowing, grammatically
correct sentence structure, it is chronological,
beginning with the pre-existence of Jesus as
recorded by John and concludes with HIS
ascension into Heaven. As Mr. Fincher makes
clear on the back cover of the book,
GOD is the author of this work, not he.
He has merely woven the scriptures together into
THE STORY.
THE STORY allows any
reader the pleasure of being able to read the
complete Gospel accounts of Jesus life
without having to jump from one author to the
other and attempt to put them in order of their
occurrence or piece HIS life together from four
different accounts. Bible study groups of all
types should find this to be an invaluable aid
in their study of the life of Jesus Christ. All
preachers regardless of denomination ought to
have this work within easy reach on their
shelves. Christians at any time in their walk
with the Lord can quickly and easily reference
any Gospel scripture/s they seek. For those who
